air-lux wins iF Design Award

Krapf AG from Engelburg has won the iF DESIGN AWARD, one of the most renowned design awards worldwide, for its patented air-lux sliding window system.

The air-lux technology is also the heart of the new Schüco AS AL 75 sliding system, a sliding system specifically designed for high-rise buildings, which received the iF DESIGN AWARD. The product had to pass a rigorous two-stage selection process by renowned experts. Among 10,000 entries from 70 countries, it was able to convince the jury in its category. This was achieved thanks to the membranous, inflatable air seal of air-lux, which ensures 100% tightness in the development from Engelburg. High interactive wind loads, building movements, driving rain, and high noise levels pose particularly significant challenges to the tightness of sliding systems in high-rise construction.
